Scribe & Imagine has no subscription. You pay for what you use, at OpenAI's published prices — either directly on your own OpenAI key, or with prepaid credit that adds a clearly shown service fee.
Your own OpenAI key — free
Paste your key once. OpenAI bills your account at their list prices. We charge nothing.
Prepaid credits
No OpenAI account needed. Each job costs OpenAI's price + 20% service fee. Top up from $5; each card payment adds a 3% + $0.30 processing fee.
Transcription
Billed per minute of audio actually sent. Long silences are trimmed first (for plain transcripts), and the same file with the same settings is never billed twice.

Images
OpenAI bills image models by tokens: $5 per million text-input tokens, $10 per million image-input tokens and $40 per million image-output tokens. Typical prices per image:

Any amount from $5 to $500. Processing fee = 3% + $0.30 per payment, what the card networks charge us. Credit doesn't expire.
What's never charged
- Jobs that fail.
- Repeating a transcription of the same file with the same settings.
- Reading, renaming, downloading or deleting transcripts and images.
- Silence trimmed from recordings before they are sent.
How we keep prices honest
Every charge shows OpenAI's price and the service fee as separate numbers, in Claude and on your account page. OpenAI's prices above were last checked on October 28, 2026 against OpenAI's pricing page and are re-checked every week, then updated here whenever OpenAI changes them. Changes to the service fee or processing fee are announced at least 14 days ahead (see the Terms).
